The Shore Club, situated along Chicago’s famed North Avenue Beach, opened to great fanfare earlier this summer. With the weather hitting the 80s yet again, it’s time for one last hurrah by the lake. And what’s the best motivator beyond the sun? Booze and brunch!
Each Saturday & Sunday through the end of October you can get beachside brunch between 10am and 1pm. The menu isn’t extensive but it hits all the requisite notes. Plus you can’t beat the view of Lake Michigan. Feel free to laugh at all the marathoners doing their final training runs as you crush a plate of Steak & Eggs.
And because Avocado Toast can’t cure your hangover, they’ve got an array of cocktails to get the job done. It won’t be long before it’s too cold to drink outside, so enjoy it while you can.
Lauren & I checked out the opening of the new @ShoreClubChi last night. It’s a beautiful outdoor space (triple usage: restaurant, bar and lounge) and has a lot of potential for what’s left of summer. It’s upscale so bring your lobster clad chinos, flowing dresses, and a thirst for luxury. The cocktails I tried far exceeded what you’d expect at a beachside joint, and from talking to folks it sounds like there are plenty more than were available yesterday. They’re also putting a heavy focus on fine champagne, because who doesn’t love fancy bubbles? And while high end is the name of the game, they still recognize that it's a beach party so there's an array of RTDs and plenty of prosecco to be had. More to come on Boozist later this week!
