Mr Peanut IPA proves beer and nuts are best friends

Mr Peanut IPA

Mr Peanut IPAIf it seems like everyone is jumping into the booze game, it’s because they are. But one new player is definitely unexpected. The fine folks at Planters – yes, the nut company – have just created a beer. The anthropomorphic monocled legume now has his very own Mr Peanut IPA, officially dubbed Planters Mr. IPA-Nut.

Planters didn’t suddenly add fermentation tanks next to their nut roasters. They worked with Noon Whistle brewing in sleepy Lombard, IL to create their Mr Peanut IPA. It’s made with actual nuts from Planters along with a couple different hops that add citrus aromas. You can absolutely taste a hint of honey-roasted peanuts and the slightly salty finish seals the deal.

Mr Peanut IPA weighs in at 6.3% ABV and is sold in 4-packs for $10. Unfortunately for many of you, it’s only available in the Chicagoland area at the moment. If their #BeerGoesNuts campaign catches on though, who knows where you might find deez nuts.

Mr Peanut IPA is a glorious new spin in an otherwise crowded market
