Break out the American beers; it’s time to celebrate the 4th of July! While there are a myriad of amazing American beers on the market, only a few stand above the fray to honor this most patriotic drinking holiday.
For some it’s all about the name and label. Others are made by or in support of veterans. It’s red, white, and blue beer parade, with a slight detour for a little blood orange… the blood of our enemies, obviously.
Sam ’76 – Samuel Adams Beer
The lager/ale hybrid is exactly the melting pot that America loves to be. Plus it’s named for our birthday.
#Merica! – Surly Brewing
I don’t know if they get bonus points or a deduction for the hashtag, but it’s great beer.
Show of Force Sampler – Veteran Beer
Owned, operated, and staffed by veterans. Buy ’em a round, ideally of their own beer.
American Beer – Pittsburgh Brewing
Patriotism and SEO all in one can. Thanks, Pittsburgh Brewing!
Legacy Lager – Dog Tag Brewing
100% of profits go towards supporting and enhancing Gold Star Family initiatives.
American Pale Ale – Stoudt’s Brewing
I don’t know if drinking the from the flag is covered under the 4 USC §1, but I’m definitely doing it.
Tyranny – Lager Heads Brewing
I’m assuming the snake is about to eat the Redcoat, otherwise I’ve made a huge mistake.
American Amber Ale – Rogue Ales
Now I see why we’ve been singing about waves of grain all this time.
Blood Orange Brew Free! or Die IPA – 21st Amendment Brewery
George Washington looks terrified of what Abraham Lincoln might do. I’m excited.
America/Camo – Budweiser
They’re owned by Belgians, but there’s nothing more American than selling beer in camouflage cans.
2nd Amendment Red IPA – Gun Craft Beer
Take your pick from their lineup of guns and ammo, each equally American.
Liberty Ale – Anchor Brewing
Originally brewed to celebrate Paul Revere’s ride, but you shouldn’t drink and ride a horse.
What’s you’re go-to American beer for the 4th of July?
