Do you have money? Because we have something well worth spending it on. Laphroaig 28 Year is the latest offering from one of our favorite distilleries. Hot on the heals of their 27 year release, this iteration is comprised of whisky aged for 27 years in a range of barrel sizes, from quarter cask to butts, and then spends an additional twelve months marrying in sherry barrels. The various barrel sizes allow for and array of flavors to develop over the years thanks to differing liquid-to-wood ratios. It comes together in a beautiful sweet and spicy mix with a level of smoke that’s subdued compared to the campfire you might be accustomed to with younger Laphroaig whiskies. Laphroaig 28 Year is barreled at cask strength, which in this case is 88.8 proof.
