Goose Island 30th Anniversary takes beer back to Britain

Goose Island 30th Anniversary Three decades ago, Boozist was still years away from being an idea in an AOL chat room. That’s how long ago John Hall founded Chicago’s best known brewery. To celebrate the achievement, the Goose Island 30th Anniversary beer takes it back to where the idea all began – London.

The limited edition, draft-only beer was made in collaboration with Fuller’s, whose London Pride was actually the inspiration for Honkers Ale way back in the day. Goose Island 30th Anniversary is an English-style pale ale, and if you haven’t tried one lately, definitely give this one a shot. They wanted to most exotic hop they could find and ended up with an experimental hop that actually tastes like oak. While barrel-aging is all the rage these days, it’s the first time we’ve ever gotten wood from a hop itself. That alone is worth the price of admission.

Goose Island 30th Anniversary Brewers Notes

Brewed to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and inspired by our roots of John Hall’s love of English beer, we have collaborated with one of the most respected breweries in the world, Fuller’s of London, to create this Pale Ale that combines styles from both sides of the Atlantic. It uses all English malt, and a bold American dry hop to make a unique beer that truly excites our brewing team.

The depth of flavor of biscuit and light caramel malt, joins a hop aroma that evokes oak and coconut, and tropical and citrus fruit. We wanted to deliver something special for our 30th Anniversary, paying respect to tradition, our past, and John’s original inspiration, and also looking forward with bold hop aromas and flavors that our brewers and U.S. craft beer drinkers love. We hope that you enjoy this special collaboration release as much as we do.

We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 30 years, but we are even more proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish over the years in the city we love.
