NYE cocktail that dabbles in absinthe and edible gold

NYE cocktailBubbles and Miller High Life’s new bottles are kings of the castle on New Years Eve, but if you want to dial it up even further, check out The Golden Hour. It’s a NYE cocktail created by bartender Edwin Medina of No. 8 in New York, and it involves drinking gold. Why would you want to do that? Because you’ll never see 2016 again. That and I’m pretty sure CashForGold shut down at this point, so what else are you going to do with all those gold flakes you’ve been hoarding?

  • 2 parts elit Vodka
  • 1 part Contratto Vermouth Bianco
  • ¼ part Luxardo Maraschino liqueur
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes of Orange bitters
  • Absinthe spray
  • Edible Gold Flake garnish

Stir all ingredients with ice and strain into a martini glass that has been sprayed with absinthe. Garnish with edible gold flake. Extend pinky excessively far while sipping NYE cocktail
