The Glenrothes Soleo Collection of Scotch

The Glenrothes, a distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland, is taking a new approach with their latest collection of whisky. The distillery is known for aging their spirits in sherry barrels. 90% of their barrels previously contained sherry so they’ve chosen to highlight the grapes that precede the whiskey with The Glenrothes Soleo Collection, which is named after the process of sun-drying sherry grapes. The new lineup brings to market a 10-year, 12-year , 18-year, and 25-year scotch as well as a “whisky maker’s cut” which is comprised of only first-fill sherry casks and bottled at 48.8% ABV.
