Chicago Rum Festival makes it feel like it’s finally spring!

Chicago Rum Festival Bacardi

Chicago Rum Festival. It’s a festival of rum. Ready? Drink.

I’ve been to a stupid amount of fests, from standard events like street fests, music fests, and beer fests (not the movie version) to rarities like Whiskyfest, BaconFest, Mac & Cheese Fest, and even Bloody Mary Fest. Now it’s once again time for Chicago Rum Festival.

On April 14th Chicago Rum Festival rolls its sugar barrels into Chicago for a day of fun under the florescent sun. There will be over 40 different rum brands being poured, which is probably 30 more than most people could name. All the more reason you should probably picking up tickets for this weekend!

The event is in Logan Square Auditorium, and the General Admission “GRAND TASTING” Session last 3 hours (3:30-6:30pm) and includes all the .25oz pours of neat rum you can responsibly try in your free snifter glass, educational seminars when you need a break, and “pleasant mellow music” to make you feel like it isn’t April in Chicago. Complimentary snacks and water will also be available.

I’ll be there for the early media session then likely hang around outside swigging a bottle of Bacardi. Be sure to stop by and say hi!
