New Years Day reins as the most hungover day of the year, and the best solution is to eat a Bloody Mary Burger. Wait, what?
That’s right, boys and girls. Now you can have your Bloody Mary and eat it too. At least you can if you live in Chicago. Rockit Burger Bar is creating a special hangover helper for New Years Day brunch. It’s more than enough reason to roll out of bed and put on some semblance of pants. Plus you won’t have to worry about it being overly crowded because Michigan most certainly isn’t playing in a bowl game!
Rockit Burger Bar’s Bloody Mary Burger is two half-pound angus patties, Bloody Mary reduction, avocado, pickles, celery slaw, and parmesan, on a deliciously toasted butter bun. If that doesn’t sounds like a little slice of hangover heaven, you’re probably still drunk.
My obvious concern was that this highly touted “Bloody Mary Reduction” was simply Bloody Mary mix simmered on the stove for awhile. That sounds about as interesting as ketchup. Turns out, noooope; it’s the real deal. They were even foolish enough to give up the recipe if you want fail at making it for yourself.
Bloody Mary Reduction
1 cup tomato juice
1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon celery salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon brown sugar
¼ teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
