Aperol Spritz is the perfect summer tipple.

I’ll generally take a whiskey on the rock at any given moment, but the 1st Lady of Boozist tells me it’s important to branch out. It’s summer, so it was time to find some seasonally appropriate drinks. Enter the Aperol Spritz.

The “our favorite” in the article headline is most certainly referring to the 1st Lady, but after drinking a couple of these, I’m on board as well. The Aperol spritz nothing groundbreaking or even original, hell, the recipe is on the cuff of the bottle, but it’s a great drink. There’s no wondering why this is one of Italy’s most popular drinks. It’s also ridiculously easy to make, a bonus when you’ve got multiple people clamoring for you to – what’s the drinking equivalent of the word “feed?” – get them drunk.

And if you’re thinking Aperol looks a lot like Campari, you’re absolutely right. The major differences are that Aperol has less alcohol and it’s flavor isn’t as over the top, making it perfect for a light summer cocktail.
